Interview with the House Captains - By Cameron 6FS and Abby 6NS

Over the last couple of weeks we have been speaking with our newly elected Captains and Vice-Captains.  Here is what they had to say.

We asked Thomas, Captain of Mumford House how did he feel when he heard he had been elected.  "I felt nervous and excited all at the same time, I just don't know what the year will hold".  Jess, new Vice-Captain of Daniel House was asked the same question and replied "I am really excited to take part in a team".

We also interviewed Mia, Vice-Captain of Mumford.  We asked her "Do you enjoy being a vice?" she said "Yes, you get to do fun stuff!".

The next person we spoke to Orpen House Captain Ellie in 6NS.  We asked her whether she liked the new responsibilities?  "I love the responsibility and I enjoy being in charge" she said.

Poppy, Captain of Sackville was asked what she was looking forward to being a Captain.  She said "hopefully being a good leader, as I have never been one before".

Our Harvest Festival

Thank you to everybody who joined us at our Harvest Festival today. We enjoyed visiting St. Mary's Church and singing songs for Harvest. Thank you to Mr Chadbourn, Mrs Hutchings and Mrs White for leading the service. Here are some pictures of our Harvest Festival.

Preparing for Harvest Festival

Preparations are well underway for our Harvest Festival.  We have already received lots of donations and look forward to receiving many more. 

Reception visit the Apple Orchard

This morning our Reception children all paid a visit to the local Apple Orchards.  We wondered around the orchard and looked at the different trees.  We were then allowed to pick an apple each which we then enjoyed eating at snack time.  Mrs Penrose spoke to us about her lovely Apple Orchard.  Thank you very much Mrs Penrose we had a GREAT time!!

Years 1 & 2 Fun Run

On Thursday 27th Spetember, 20 of our year 1 and 2 children took part in a Fun Run at the Garrison playing fields.  Here we are before we set off.  Look out for a full report over the coming weeks.

School Council Chair in action!

Our new School Council chairperson (Oliver) and vice-chair (Logan) have been busy writing their first letter. The letter is to ask pupils and patents to donate items of food for our Harvest Festival. This year we are supporting Colchester Foodbank.
