Year 6 Common Room by Alex 6FS

Everyone in yr 6 now has the chance, if they stay on green that is,  to enjoy a youth club which has activities like pool, table football, and table tennis everybody has a chance to enjoy it and most people have been able to every week but there are some people who sadly have missed out, hopefully they have learnt their lesson.   This activity takes place every Friday at lunch and there are two rooms full of fun activities.

We're getting a new kitchen - by Jack

Members of the juniors will know that the Hopscotch room and toilets are being turned into a new kitchen. The toilets have been removed;   the suite has been extended into the corridor. In September a new school kitchen will be ready, it will be exactly where the old one was 10 years ago.

District Sports by Libby

On 19th of June the athletics team went to the Garrison track to compete in a competition of sprints, distance running, ball throw and long jump. I had a great and tiring time at the track. I got into the final of 150m and my relay team did too.  At the garrison track it was cold and wet but we battle thought it. There have been photos already on the hub so go and see them!! My relay team came 2nd so we got a medal and I came 4th in 150m so I just missed out of a medal. I had a great and soggy time.

Success at District Sports

Yesterday, 19th June, a team of 24 pupils from Heathlands went to the Colchester Garrison athletics track to take part in the District Sports event.  There were many schools there and the atmosphere was electric.  All our athletes were amazing each doing their absolute best and showing great sportsmanship. Along with many golds, silvers and bronze medals, all our relay teams reached the finals three of which came first and one scoring valuable points in fourth place.  Thank you to all the parents/brothers/grandparents who helped with transport and supported our lovely children.
