Try Local Football!!

Football

I play football for Marks Tey and we need some new members. We train on Saturdays between 09.45 to 11.00 and we play matches on Sundays (time varies.) I play for the under 11s though the only other age groups are Under 6s between 5 and 6 year olds (Year 1s) and a Under 10s between 9 and 10 year olds (year 5s). My age group is for year 6's and we need 4 or 5 more players. At training we learn all sorts of things from dribbling to keepie uppies. We need another goalkeeper and a few more outfield players. It takes 1 week to get singed on and you get the kit from the club. For more information talk to me.

We are the Winners!!!

Leena and Jonty attended the Sport Colchester 2012 awards ceremony on Monday 4th February.  This is their report.
We went to Weston Homes Community Stadium with Mrs Carter, Mrs Dobson and Mr Matthews at 7pm.  We were in a nice big room with lots of other people.  There were some Olympic Athletes there as well.  Also the London 2012 Games Makers from Colchester.  There were lots of different sporting awards.  We were in the category for Development of PE & Sport for Young People by a school 2012.  We were up against some tough competition.  We were nominated because of the Consortium Olympics we arranged at this School, and for giving lots of children the opportunity to take part in many different sports and at the same time have an involvement in the Olympics.
We met Dominic  King who is a speed walker and also Hannah Stodel who is a paralympic sailor, we found Hannah really inspiring.  When the awards were announced we had to walk to the stage in front of everyone.  We were so nervous but it was a great experience.   We were so pleased to find out we were winners.
After the ceremony we enjoyed a lovely  buffet.   We didn’t get home until 9.45pm but it was really worth it.  Thanks for the lift and looking after us Mr Matthews.
