Year 6 Electrian Visit

On Wednesday 21st January, Mr Turner came to class 6S to talk about himself as an electrician.  Mr Turner talked about how he had trained to be a fireman but it didn’t quite work out.  Then he tried three jobs for the police; the first was in New Scotland Yard being the head of the Police.  The second was working in the forensics lab and then the third was working with special events.

He then decided to be an electrician and he had to train for two years.  He told 6S how dangerous electricity can be because you can’t see it; you can’t smell it and you can’t hear it.  He told 6S how important it was to wear a suit when dealing with electricity and he put one of these suits on Joshua.  Joshua said that it was very hot in there and Mr Turner said there are only two suits to be shared between thirty-six people and each one costs £2000.

6S really enjoyed having Mr Turner to come to talk to them and learnt lots about electricity and how dangerous it can be.
